Hello! My name is Evan Lawrence and I want to help you reach your health, fitness, and wellness goals.
I am a New York City resident who has a love and passion for health, fitness, and overall wellness.
I have simultaneously developed careers in fitness and psychology, and now I work in both fields, using my skills in one to compliment the other.
A little about my journey:
I obtained a Bachelors degree in Psychology from the University of Connecticut and then went on to obtain a Masters Degree in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from John Jay College of Criminal Justice where I graduated with distinction. Part of my current work and available services is as a therapist in Brooklyn and Manhattan.
I am also Certified Personal Trainer, earning my first certification in 2012, and then re-certifying in 2014 with the Academy of Applied Personal Training Education through Hofstra University. I started my personal training journey at New York Sports Club where I worked my way to the position of Lead Trainer. Eventually I broke away from the corporate gym world and have been operating as an independent trainer since.
More recently, I expanded my horizons and became a yoga instructor (RYT-200) through Breathe for Change's amazing teacher training program program. I now incorporate yoga and mindfulness into my training, my classes, and even my counseling when desired!
Finally, in order to round out my wellness repertoire, I expanded on the my nutrition knowledge by completing the Precision Nutrition's Level 1 Course, the industry's most recognized certification in the area. As a Certified PN1 coach I assist people in using nutrition to gain or lose weight, change their body composition and/or make healthier nutritional choices.
I am a one-stop-shop for all your health and wellness needs! I enjoy using the knowledge I have obtained in all my areas of study to compliment the other. I believe they work together in an fashion that allows me to work intelligently and efficiently will my clients thus ensuring they reach their objectives. And there is nothing I love more than guiding people in reaching their health and fitness goals
Below you can see a list of specific skills I have studied and learned over my time as a trainer. It would be my pleasure to pass on any and all of this knowledge to you!
